This project, representing Holtop's 42nd major contract in 2025, involves the delivery of 12 sets of custom-built Modular Air Handling Units (MAHUs). Located in Hebei Province, the Xiongshang Station is a critical transportation hub requiring a climate control system of exceptional reliability, capacity, and precision to serve high passenger volumes and ensure consistent comfort.
Climate Control for a Critical Transportation Hub
Designing the HVAC system for a major high-speed rail station presented distinct challenges:
· Vast, Open Spaces:The station's large-volume interior, with high ceilings and open layouts, creates significant and uneven thermal loads, making uniform temperature and humidity distribution difficult.
· Fluctuating and High Occupancy:Passenger flow is highly variable, with extreme peaks during train arrivals and departures. The system must respond rapidly to sudden changes in internal heat and humidity loads from crowds.
· Energy Efficiency Imperatives:Operating continuously, the system must be designed for optimal energy performance to manage significant long-term operational costs sustainably.
Leveraging extensive experience in large-venue air conditioning, Holtop designed a solution centered on robust and flexible Modular Air Handling Units. This system is specifically engineered to meet the stringent demands of modern transportation hubs.
The core of the solution features 12 high-capacity Modular Air Handling Units (MAHUs), strategically configured to provide zoned climate control across the station's various functional areas (concourse, waiting areas, ticketing halls).
