HOLTOP Supplies Energy-Efficient HVAC Equipment for Binzhou Medical University Hospital’s New Emergency Medical Building

BINZHOU, Shandong, – HOLTOP has supplied more than 50 heat pump-type solution heat recovery fresh air units for Binzhou Medical University Hospital’s new emergency medical building and campus upgrading project. The units cover the emergency rescue center, operating rooms, ICUs and wards, providing a safe, clean and energy-saving air environment for critical care in northern Shandong.

Binzhou Medical University Hospital is a Grade III-A comprehensive hospital and one of Shandong’s first seven provincial regional medical centers. The new project has a total construction area of about 75,000 square meters and 400 emergency beds, making it a landmark critical care project in northern Shandong.

The units adopt heat pump plus liquid circulation dual heat recovery technology. The first stage recovers energy through liquid circulation, and the second stage further utilizes exhaust air energy through a heat pump cycle, effectively avoiding winter frosting and blockage problems common in northern China and ensuring stable year-round operation.

With dual-stage heat recovery, unit energy efficiency can reach 4.8. Compared with conventional air-conditioning systems, annual HVAC energy consumption can be reduced by more than 70%, supporting green and low-carbon operation of large public hospitals.

Fresh air and exhaust air are completely physically isolated, preventing pollutants and pathogens from entering the fresh air side. Multi-stage filtration and electronic purification progressively improve supply air cleanliness, meeting strict infection-control requirements in operating rooms, ICUs and emergency departments.

The integrated design combines heat pumps, liquid circulation, fresh air pretreatment, multi-stage filtration and electronic purification, reducing on-site installation work by about 30%. It adapts to limited machine room space and complex construction conditions in new-build and renovation projects.

The project is a benchmark practice for HOLTOP in hospital HVAC and validates its delivery capability for dual heat recovery, cross-infection prevention and integrated design in large northern general hospitals.
