External Humidity Sensor and Energy Recovery System
Intelligent control system for residential and commercial HVAC systems with WiFi functionality, designed for ERV, HRV, and total heat exchangers.
Intelligent Electrical Control Features
Basic Hardware:
  • 1 fresh air inlet temperature sensor
  • 1 supply air outlet temperature sensor
  • 1 return air temperature sensor
Optional Hardware:
  • 1 external humidity sensor
  • 1 external CO2 sensor
  • 1 external differential pressure switch
  • 1 WiFi module
Customer-Supplied Hardware:
  • 2 external electric heaters
Hardware Interfaces Reserved for Customer:
  • 2 RS485 communication ports: 1 for centralized control to external system, 1 for communication between master and slave boards
  • 4 digital inputs reserved: Fire alarm signal input, bypass control switch, forced start switch, differential pressure signal input, forced high-speed signal input
  • 4 digital outputs reserved: Operation status signal output, fault signal output, electric heater 1 output, electric heater 2 output
Standard Keypad Controller Functions (HDK-CK23C2)
Basic Functions:
  • Heat Exchange Mode: Extracts energy from exhaust air to heat (winter) or cool (summer) fresh air, reducing energy consumption
  • Speed Adjustment: 5 adjustable speeds (positions 1, 3, 5, 7, 10) for supply and exhaust air outlets, adjustable independently
  • Operation Timer: Intermittent operation for 15min, 30min, or 45min per hour; continuous operation available
  • Power-off Memory: Retains operating status prior to power outage upon restart
  • Frost Protection: Enters frost protection mode when outdoor temperature is too low
Engineering Mode:
  • Free adjustment of fan speeds for supply and exhaust air at each speed level
Advanced Functions:
  • Ultra-Low Temperature Operation: Normal operation (intermittent) even below 5°F (-15°C)
  • Temperature Calibration: Displays and calibrates 3 air temperatures (fresh air, return air, supply air) for intelligent control
  • Advanced Sleep Mode: Operates at lowest speed during specific periods, intelligently opens/closes bypass based on indoor-outdoor temperature difference
  • Intelligent Airflow Compensation: Compensates airflow after prolonged operation without replacing or cleaning filters or core
Pre-configured Functions:
  • Cloud Control: Remote control via Tuya Cloud platform mobile APP (WiFi module required)
  • Forced Dehumidification: Set desired indoor humidity for intelligent operation (humidity sensor required)
  • CO2 Forced Ventilation: Intelligent operation based on preset CO2 control logic (CO2 sensor required)
  • Differential Pressure Filter Alert: Intelligent operation and alerts based on core and filter differential pressure
  • Multiple Signal Interfaces: RS485 interface, bypass control, differential pressure, forced start/stop, fire alarm, forced high-speed input, fault, operation, and electric heating signals
Optional Keypad Controller Functions (HDK-CK23C3)
Basic Functions:
  • Heat Exchange Mode: Energy recovery from exhaust air for heating/cooling fresh air
  • Speed Adjustment: One-touch high speed for supply/exhaust air and one-touch exit from high speed mode
  • Operation Timer: One-touch high speed duration: 10/20/30 minutes
  • Power-off Memory: Retains operating status prior to power outage
  • Frost Protection: Frost protection mode activation in low outdoor temperatures
Advanced Function:
  • Ultra-Low Temperature Operation: Normal operation (intermittent) even below 5°F (-15°C)
Pre-configured Functions:
  • Multiple Signal Interfaces: RS485 interface, bypass control, differential pressure, forced start/stop, fire alarm, forced high-speed input, fault, operation, and electric heating signals
Controller Compatibility
Controller products are classified into Level 1 and Level 2 based on functionality. The keypad controller HDK-CK23C3 is a Level 2 controller. The keypad controller HDK-CK23C2 and the intelligent fresh air controller HDK-CK23C1 are both Level 1 controllers.
Compatibility Rules: A Level 2 controller can coexist with either of the two Level 1 controllers without conflict. However, the two Level 1 controllers cannot be used simultaneously; only one must be selected.
